# Nuxt: what an agent reads

In short

Nuxt does not generate llms.txt in core. Nuxt totals 7 of 16 on the eight numeric keys, from a test build of Nuxt 4.6.4. It also does not keep the answer in the HTML once ssr is set to false.

**rubric.txt** nuxt

```text
initial_html_by_default  = 2
real_status_codes        = 2
llms_txt_generation      = 0
llms_txt_linking         = 0
markdown_negotiation     = 1
jsonld_output            = 1
openapi_exposure         = 0
fenced_code              = 1
total                    = 7 of 16
```

Test build of 4.6.4, 2026-11-04.

**Nuxt** Framework, Nuxt

Vue framework that uses universal rendering by default, returning fully rendered HTML; client-side rendering is a one-line switch that removes it.

Work left to the developer: Medium: keep ssr on, write llms.txt and a markdown server route, add the Accept middleware, and link the file.

## The nine scores

| Key | Score | Evidence | Source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Content in the initial HTML | 2, on by default | Test build, Nuxt 4.6.4, 2026-11-04: universal rendering put the H1 and body text in the page HTML. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/guide/concepts/rendering, 2026-11-04 |
| Real status codes | 2, on by default | Test build: the Nitro server answered a made-up path with 404 directly. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/getting-started/error-handling, 2026-11-04 |
| llms.txt generation | 0, not offered | Test build: the template shipped public/robots.txt (empty Disallow, no Sitemap line) and no llms.txt or sitemap. A file or a server route is written by hand. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/directory-structure/server, 2026-11-04 |
| llms.txt linking | 0, not offered | Test build: nothing links an llms.txt and none exists. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/directory-structure/server, 2026-11-04 |
| Markdown on request | 1, with setup | Test build: Accept: text/markdown returned text/html. Nuxt runs its own Nitro server by default, so a server route or middleware that tests the header can answer it without a separate host. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/directory-structure/server, 2026-11-04 |
| JSON-LD output | 1, with setup | Test build: no JSON-LD emitted. A script element can be added through head configuration. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/guide/concepts/rendering, 2026-11-04 |
| OpenAPI exposure | 0, not offered | Test build: no OpenAPI file or link; Nuxt has no first-party feature for one. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/directory-structure/server, 2026-11-04 |
| Fenced, tagged code | 1, with setup | Test build: there is no Markdown pipeline without the Content module; a hand-written code element kept its language class. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/guide/concepts/rendering, 2026-11-04 |
| Work left to the developer | | Medium: keep ssr on, write llms.txt and a markdown server route, add the Accept middleware, and link the file. Based on the test build above and the documentation pages cited for each key. | nuxt.com/docs/4.x/directory-structure/server, 2026-11-04 |

## Test build

Nuxt 4.6.4, built on 4 November 2026. nuxi init with the minimal template, two pages, nuxt build, node .output/server/index.mjs. What it emitted:

- The home page HTML held the H1 and body text (universal rendering).
- The template ships public/robots.txt (User-Agent: \*, Disallow: empty, no Sitemap line); no llms.txt or sitemap.
- A made-up path returned 404 directly from the Nitro server.
-   Accept: text/markdown on / returned text/html.
- No Markdown pipeline without the Content module; a hand-written code element with a language class kept its class.
- No JSON-LD and no OpenAPI file.

## What the documentation says

Each statement below carries its source and the date read. Statements a vendor makes about itself are labelled as vendor claims.

- Nuxt uses universal rendering by default: the server runs the Vue code and returns a fully rendered HTML page. \[primary source\] [source](https://nuxt.com/docs/4.x/guide/concepts/rendering), read 4 November 2026.
- Nuxt can switch to client-side rendering in one line of configuration, which ships an empty shell to fetchers that do not run JavaScript. \[primary source\] [source](https://nuxt.com/docs/4.x/guide/concepts/rendering), read 4 November 2026.
- Nuxt supports hybrid rendering with route rules and edge-side rendering. \[primary source\] [source](https://nuxt.com/docs/4.x/guide/concepts/rendering), read 4 November 2026.
-   nuxt.com/llms.txt was 69,938 bytes with 434 links on 2026-11-04, and nuxt.com answered Accept: text/markdown with a 307 to a text/plain response. \[primary source\] [source](https://nuxt.com/llms.txt), read 4 November 2026.

## What it does not do

- Does not generate llms.txt in core.
- Does not keep the answer in the HTML once ssr is set to false.
