# Cloudflare: vendor profile

In short

Cloudflare's own site publishes an llms.txt, an agents.json and a .md twin of its plans page, though Cloudflare writes no llms.txt for customer zones. A Pages project without a top-level 404.html serves its root page for missing paths. Browser Run bills $0.09 an hour after 10 included hours, and Pro costs $20 a month billed annually.

## At a glance

**standards.txt** cloudflare

```text
llms-txt               = no statement
markdown-negotiation   = partial
markdown-twin          = no statement
initial-html           = partial
real-404               = partial
vary-accept            = supports
```

1 supports, 3 partial or announced, 2 no statement.

**Cloudflare** Host, CDN or edge product

Edge network and host (Pages, Workers static assets) that can convert pages to markdown for agents on paid plans, sells Browser Run endpoints that render any URL to markdown or crawl a site, and lets owners allow or block AI crawlers per bot.

## What it does for this layer

- Cloudflare lists San Francisco, 101 Townsend St., as its headquarters and says its network serves data from 335 cities in more than 125 countries. \[primary source\] [source](https://www.cloudflare.com/about-overview/), read 5 November 2026.
- Cloudflare's own post of 2026-01-16 on the Astro deal names Webflow Cloud, Wix Vibe and Stainless docs as products whose sites are Astro projects deployed on Cloudflare's network. \[primary source, 2026-01-16\] [source](https://blog.cloudflare.com/astro-joins-cloudflare/), read 5 November 2026.
- Cloudflare's plans page on 2026-11-05 priced Free at $0, Pro at $20 a month billed annually or $25 monthly, and Business at $200 a month billed annually or $250 monthly, with Enterprise billed annually on a quote. \[primary source, 2026-11-05\] [source](https://www.cloudflare.com/plans/), read 5 November 2026.
- Cloudflare Pages switches to single-page-app mode when a project has no top-level 404.html and serves the root page for any path that matches no file, so missing URLs on such a site come back as the home page instead of a not-found response. \[primary source\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/pages/configuration/serving-pages/), read 5 November 2026.
- Setting assets.not\_found\_handling to "404-page" in the Wrangler file makes Workers static assets walk up the directory tree to the nearest 404.html and serve it with a 404 status, falling back to an empty-bodied 404 when no such file exists. \[primary source\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/static-assets/routing/static-site-generation/), read 5 November 2026.
- With not\_found\_handling set and a compatibility date of 2025-04-01 or later, Workers answers browser navigations (Sec-Fetch-Mode: navigate) straight from static assets without running the Worker script, so a plain curl or agent request that lacks that header can take a different path through the Worker. \[primary source\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/workers/static-assets/routing/static-site-generation/), read 5 November 2026.
- Browser Run, the product formerly named Browser Rendering, has a /markdown Quick Action that loads a URL or raw HTML in headless Chrome and returns markdown through a POST to the account's browser-run/markdown API path. \[primary source\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/browser-run/quick-actions/markdown-endpoint/), read 5 November 2026.
- Cloudflare added a /crawl endpoint to the Browser Run REST API as a beta on 2026-03-10; it follows links from a start URL to a set depth or page limit and returns HTML, Markdown or structured JSON. \[primary source, 2026-03-10\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/browser-run/changelog/), read 5 November 2026.
- Each /crawl job declares crawlPurposes (search, ai-input, ai-train by default), and Cloudflare refuses the job with HTTP 400 when the target's robots.txt carries a Content-Signal setting one of those purposes to no; URLs blocked by robots.txt rules are reported as robots\_disallowed. \[primary source\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/browser-run/quick-actions/crawl-endpoint/), read 5 November 2026.
- Browser Run on Workers Paid includes 10 browser hours a month and then bills $0.09 per hour, plus $2.00 per concurrent browser above 10; Workers Free gets 10 minutes a day. \[primary source, 2026-11-05\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/browser-run/pricing/), read 5 November 2026.
- A Browser Run changelog entry of 2026-06-12 added a tutorial for pre-rendering JavaScript-heavy pages with a Worker that calls the /content Quick Action and hands crawler-ready HTML to search crawlers and link-preview bots. \[primary source, 2026-06-12\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/browser-run/changelog/), read 5 November 2026.
- AI Crawl Control, renamed from AI Audit and available on every Cloudflare plan, shows which AI crawlers hit a zone, sets allow or block rules per crawler, tracks robots.txt compliance and offers pay per crawl as a private beta. \[primary source\] [source](https://developers.cloudflare.com/ai-crawl-control/), read 5 November 2026.
-   On 2026-11-05 www.cloudflare.com served a 17,173-byte llms.txt, a 4,762-byte /.well-known/agents.json and a .md twin of its plans page (11,858 bytes of text/markdown with Vary: Accept), and its robots.txt comments point agents to all three. \[observed, 2026-11-05\] [source](https://www.cloudflare.com/llms.txt), read 5 November 2026.

## Standards

| Standard | Status | What the vendor's pages say | Source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| llms-txt | no statement | No llms.txt generator for customer zones found in the docs read on 2026-11-05; the files on cloudflare.com and the docs host are Cloudflare's own. | none |
| markdown-negotiation | partial | Markdown for Agents converts HTML to markdown on Accept: text/markdown, on Pro, Business and Enterprise only. | source |
| markdown-twin | no statement | No per-page .md feature for customer sites found; the .md URLs on cloudflare.com and its docs are Cloudflare's own site code. | none |
| initial-html | partial | Hosting serves whatever HTML the site builds; for JavaScript-heavy pages Cloudflare documents a Browser Run pre-render Worker. | source |
| real-404 | partial | Workers assets serve the nearest 404.html with a 404 under not_found_handling "404-page"; Pages without a top-level 404.html falls back to the root page. | source |
| vary-accept | supports | Converted responses add Accept to Vary and keep any Vary values the origin set. | source |

| Cloudflare keyless scan | 60, L4 Agent-Integrated | 2026-11-05 |
| Shared crawl row | Tranco rank 2; home page HTTP 200; H1 in the HTML: yes; 1,250 words; JSON-LD types: Organization, WebSite, WebPage; answers markdown: yes; made-up path HTTP 404; llms.txt valid: yes | 2026-11-04 |

## What it does not do

- Browser Run's /markdown and /crawl are paid API calls made by whoever is fetching, so turning them on changes nothing about what a visiting agent receives from a Cloudflare-hosted site.
- Cloudflare writes no llms.txt for customer zones; the 17,173-byte file on www.cloudflare.com is Cloudflare's own.
