Verdicts by reader
- Technical SEO
- Source-built markdown keeps structure better than generic conversion.
- Docs owner
- Mintlify docs gain nothing from the Cloudflare toggle for markdown.
- Front-end developer
- Generic conversion strips navigation; source conversion knows what is navigation.
What each leaves undone
Mintlify
- Does not publish the llms.txt behind a fully authenticated site to tools that cannot sign in.
- Does not cap llms-full.txt size; the 100,000 character split applies to llms.txt only.
Cloudflare Markdown for Agents
- Does not convert pages larger than 6 MiB of HTML.
- Does not run JavaScript, so a client-rendered shell converts to an empty document.
- Is not available on the Free plan per the documentation read.
Work left to the developer: Mintlify, Low: write a description in each page frontmatter so llms.txt entries carry one. Cloudflare Markdown for Agents, Low: toggle in Quick Actions on a paid zone; the origin must already put the answer in HTML.
