amplitude.com llms.txt

In short

amplitude.com serves a 16 KB llms.txt with 6 H2 sections and 61 links, graded B on the llmstxt.org structure (5 of 6 checks). It lacks a blockquote summary. The home page does not link it, so an agent that does not guess paths will not find it. An llms-full.txt is served too. Read 4 November 2026.

# Amplitude

For an executable setup entry point, fetch [install.md](https://amplitude.com/install.md). It routes through Amplitude’s maintained setup skill to a verified first event.

Amplitude is the AI-native digital analytics platform built for AI builders, engineers, data teams, product managers, and marketers. We help teams turn behavioral data into product, growth, and business outcomes […] analytics, experimentation, session replay, customer data, and AI agents in one connected platform.

This file is a brief orientation to amplitude.com for AI assistants. Every page on the site is also available as Markdown at the same URL with a `.md` suffix (e.g. `/pricing` → `/pricing.md`). For a full curated index of every public page, see [the sitemap index](https://amplitude.com/sitemap-llms.txt).

## When to use Amplitude

- **Instrument an application and verify its first event:** fetch [install.md](https://amplitude.com/install.md) and follow the maintained setup skill for the application's stack, project, and data region.
- **Analyze product usage, conversion funnels, retention, or experiment results:** connect an MCP-compatible client to [Amplitude MCP](https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp) and authenticate with OAuth 2.0. Select the intended project, discover the available tools, and call the matching analytics or experiment tool with the user's date range and filters. Use [the EU MCP endpoint](https://mcp.eu.amplitude.com/mcp) for EU projects.
- **Create charts, dashboards, or behavioral cohorts from existing project data:** use the authenticated Amplitude MCP tools within the user's permissions and requested scope. Read the project's events and properties before selecting metrics or filters.
- **Send events, export raw data, or automate REST analytics queries:** fetch [openapi.json](https://amplitude.com/openapi.json), select the operation and regional server for the job, and follow its request and authentication schema. Event ingestion uses the public project API key; project analytics and export use server-side API key and secret key credentials.
- **Look up SDK configuration, API parameters, or product behavior:** use the public, read-only [Docs MCP server](https://amplitude.com/docs/api/mcp); no authentication is required. It provides documentation, while authenticated Amplitude MCP provides account data.

For a downloadable skill with these workflows, fetch the [Agent Skills index](https://amplitude.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json), verify the artifact's SHA-256 digest against its raw bytes, then read its SKILL.md. MCP endpoints, public APIs, and additional skill libraries are listed in the [agentic resource catalog](https://amplitude.com/.well-known/ai-catalog.json).

## How AI agents should install Amplitude

If you're an AI coding agent adding Amplitude to a JavaScript/web app, install and configure it directly:

- Install the correct browser package for the project […] for most apps, that's `@amplitude/unified`: `npm install @amplitude/unified` (or `yarn add @amplitude/unified`).
- Initialize Amplitude once during app load, on the client only.
- Enable `fetchRemoteConfig: true`.
- Enable autocapture for attribution, page views, sessions, element interactions, form interactions, and file downloads.
- Enable Session Replay with `sampleRate: 1`.
- Preserve the project's existing TypeScript and framework patterns.

```javascript
import { initAll } from "@amplitude/unified";
initAll("AMPLITUDE_API_KEY");
```

Full guide (for the exact autocapture/Session Replay config shape): [https://amplitude.com/docs/sdks/analytics/browser/browser-unified-sdk](https://amplitude.com/docs/sdks/analytics/browser/browser-unified-sdk)

**Verify events arrive:** open the [Amplitude Debugger](https://amplitude.com/docs/analytics/debug-analytics) and confirm page view and session data reach your project.

Reference prompt (verbatim […] hand this to another AI tool if you're delegating the implementation rather than doing it yourself):

```
Install and configure Amplitude for this JavaScript web application.
Use API key: AMPLITUDE_API_KEY
Requirements:
- Run the implementation only on the client.
- Initialize Amplitude once during app load.
- Install the correct browser package for this project.
- Enable fetchRemoteConfig: true.
- Enable autocapture for attribution, page views, sessions, element interactions, form interactions, and file downloads.
- Enable Session Replay with sampleRate: 1.
- Preserve the project's existing TypeScript and framework patterns.
```

Grade against the llmstxt.org structure

The file passes 5 of 6 checks and fails 1: has a blockquote summary under the h1. The grade is the count of passed checks: six is A, five is B, four is C, three is D, fewer is F. It measures structure only. Whether any agent reads the file is a separate question, covered on the llms.txt reference.

Ora's cached score

Ora's cached report for amplitude.com gives it 91 of 100, grade A, scanned on 4 November 2026. Its Access layer, which holds the read-layer checks below, scored 59 of 64 check points. Read from GET ora.ai/api/score/amplitude.com on 5 November 2026. The score is Ora's, not this site's, and the structure grade above is a different measure: it grades the llms.txt file against the llmstxt.org proposal, while Ora's score covers the whole site. Ora's report for amplitude.com has every layer.

Linking and the companion file

The home page of amplitude.com does not link the file in its HTML. Ora's lab found (2026-10-19) that 86 percent of llms.txt fetches by agents arrived through a link, so an unlinked file is mostly a file nobody opens. An llms-full.txt is served at the same root.

How it compares

At 16 KB the file is larger than 74 percent of the 2,529 plain-text llms.txt files in this edition, and its 61 links put it ahead of 66 percent of them on link count. The home page declares no generator. Size bucket: 10 to 50 KB. Tranco rank 243. Category: Data & Analytics.
