Angular: vendor profile
In short
Angular 22 came out on 2026-06-03 with active support to 2027-06. angular.dev answered a made-up path with 200 and an HTML page, and a prerendered redirect becomes a meta refresh tag. A project made without --ssr sends a client-rendered shell. The framework is free under the MIT licence.

Angular Framework
Angular is Google's TypeScript web framework that client-renders apps by default, and adding @angular/ssr turns on hybrid rendering, which prerenders every route unless server routes say otherwise and lets each route set its own HTTP status.

What it does for this layer
- Angular's server and hybrid rendering guide states that Angular apps are client-side rendered by default. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Angular turns on hybrid rendering with `ng new --ssr` for a new project or `ng add @angular/ssr` for an existing one. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Once @angular/ssr is added, Angular prerenders the whole app and writes a server file; routes switch to on-request SSR only when app.routes.server.ts sets RenderMode.Server. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Angular server routes take headers and status properties in the ServerRoute config, which is how a route returns a code other than 200. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- In prerendered (SSG) Angular output, redirectTo routes become meta refresh tags, while on-request SSR sends real HTTP 301 or 302 redirects. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- For Angular prerendered routes with parameters, paths not produced by getPrerenderParams fall back to server rendering unless the fallback is set to Client or None. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Angular manages page titles and meta tags through its Title and Meta services, which the SSR guide points to for meta tag handling. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Angular 22 was released on 2026-06-03 and is in active support until 2027-06, with long-term support to 2028-06, per the Angular releases page. [primary source, 2026-06-03] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Starting with v22 Angular moved from a six-month to a twelve-month major release cycle, with v23.0 pencilled in for about June 2027. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- The Angular v22 release page lists Signal Forms, Asynchronous Signals and Angular Aria as now stable, alongside template and AI tooling updates. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- On 2026-11-05 `npm view` reported @angular/core 22.2.4 (published 2026-10-29) and @angular/ssr 22.2.6 (published 2026-11-04) as the latest Angular releases. [observed, 2026-11-04] source, read 5 November 2026.
- The Angular team publishes llms.txt as an index and llms-full.txt as a compiled reference for code-generating LLMs; the full file sits at /assets/context/llms-full.txt (859,329 bytes on 2026-11-05). [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- The Angular CLI ships a Model Context Protocol server, started with `npx @angular/cli mcp`, that lets coding assistants run code generation, workspace analysis, builds and tests. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Angular has experimental WebMCP support, where provideExperimentalWebMcpTools registers in-browser tools for AI agents, and Signal Forms can be exposed as tools. [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
- Angular is MIT licensed with copyright held by Google LLC, and angular.dev's footer reads "Super-powered by Google ©2010-2026." [primary source] source, read 5 November 2026.
Products and plans
| Product | What it is | Price | As of | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Angular (with @angular/ssr) | Open source TypeScript web framework from Google; the @angular/ssr package adds server rendering, prerendering and per-route render modes. | Free, open source MIT License | 2026-11-05 | source |
Standards
| Standard | Status | What the vendor's pages say | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| llms-txt | no statement | No statement found in the SSR guide or the Build with AI pages about generating llms.txt for an app; angular.dev publishes its own llms.txt and llms-full.txt for the Angular docs. | none |
| markdown-negotiation | no statement | No statement found in the SSR guide or AI pages; angular.dev answered Accept: text/markdown with text/html on 2026-11-05. | none |
| markdown-twin | no statement | No statement found in the Angular SSR or AI docs read about .md copies of app pages. | none |
| initial-html | partial | CSR is the default; server HTML needs ng new --ssr or ng add @angular/ssr, after which routes are prerendered by default. | source |
| real-404 | partial | ServerRoute config takes a status property per route; nothing in the guide sets 404 for unknown paths on its own. | source |
| vary-accept | no statement | No statement found in the Angular SSR guide or Build with AI pages. | none |

What it does not do
- An Angular app created without --ssr sends a client-rendered shell, so an agent that skips JavaScript sees no page content until @angular/ssr is added.
- Angular leaves non-200 codes to the status property in app.routes.server.ts; the angular.dev site itself answered a made-up path with 200 on 2026-11-05. source, read 5 November 2026.
